He is survived by: his wife Lorie Thacker Williams Hartman; his children, Earlene Susan Gibbons (Mike), Jenny Lynn Costello (Tim), Patrick Wayne Hartman (Ruth), Rufus Miller Hartman, III, Donna Williams and Hank Williams (Tammy); his sister Beulah Greene (Jim); his grandchildren, Martha Walter (Cliff), Carla Craig, Timothy Costello, Rachel Elice (Joe), Matthew Costello, Jonathan Hartman, Joe Gibbons, HollyAnn Gibbons, Garrett Gibbons, Gregory Willoughby, Dustin Williams (Hannah), Riley Williams, Megan, Allison, Ellen Livengood, Anne Livengood and Ivy Livengood; his great grandchildren, Ashleigh Hill, Vence Hill, Brandon Hill, DezaRay Hall, Briahna Hall, Ripley Martin, Gabe Craig, Lucas Elice, James Elice, Emma Elice, Jacie Snapp, Austin Snapp, Kaylynn Matthews, Corbin Matthews, Easton Matthews, Trevor Evans, Rhyann Gibbons, Sara Weiser (Neil) and Cora Reed (Ryan); and his great great grandchildren, Eleanor Weiser, Oliver Weiser and Miles Reed.
