He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Ella Burkhart (Woodward) and John Clarence Burkhart; and his brother Roy Lee Burkhart. He is survived by: his wife Sarah M. Burkhart; his children, Treshia Hammock, Sheila Adams (John Adams) and John Alan Burkhart; and his grandchildren, Jason Coffey (Crystal), Juliet Hood, Nick Coffey, Tasha Soper (David), Justin Roberts (Crystal), Joseph Hammock (Jennifer), Aaron Coffey (Ashley), Jordan Hammock, Cherish Brooks (Johnny), Jaycee Coffey and Jacob Coffey. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren.
