He was predeceased by: his parents, Abner Johnson and Allie Rodgers Johnson; and his siblings, Vergie Hatfield, Retha McGuire, Kermit "Gene" Johnson, Manuel Johnson, Shellie Rodgers, Russell Johnson and Ricky Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary E. "Jean" Clements Johnson; his children, William Johnson (Cathy) of Campbellsville, Matthew Johnson of Elkhorn, Barbara Bishop of Elkhorn and Sandra Ferrer (Pete) of Liberty; his sisters, Louise Marcum, Dorothy Rodgers (Kenneth) and Elva McFarland (Junior); and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Johnson and Kelley Johnson. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren.
