He was predeceased by: his father Earl Borden; and his brother Paul Borden. He is survived by: his children, Linda Moran (Jim), Douglas Borden (Debra), Jane Lintermoot (Randy) and Kathy Hitchcock (Stan); his grandchildren, Bradley Borden (Junko), Kimberly Carlson, Jeffrey Lintermoot, Casey Lintermoot, Adam Johnson and Andrew Johnson; and his sisters, Lois Bates and Carol Ritchie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post 8, 1230 Man O' War Place, Lexington, KY 40504.
