He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond O'Brien and Dorothy Fitzgerald O'Brien. He is survived by : his wife Gracia Ainslee Pope O'Brien of Lexington; his daughters, Erin O'Brien (Robert Lakes) of Lexington and Alexa O'Brien of Lexington; his granddaughter Ainslee O'Brien; and his siblings, Kathy Scahill and Robert O'Brien (Judy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Rd (3421 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY 40513). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Lexington Habitat for Humanity at 700 East Loudon Ave. Lex.
