She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Lee Napier White and Virgil White, Sr.; her husband William Griffin, Jr.; her siblings, Doris Tyler, Virgil, Jr. and William White; and her grandson David Griffin.
She is survived by: her children, Jackie Johnson (Billy), Doris Brown, Veronica White, Joseph Smith (Sharon), Barbara Perkins, Lina Bradshaw (Ollie), Teresa Lee (Ricky), William Griffin, III, Harvey Mae and Sidney Griffin (Janice); her stepson Tony (Candice) of Washington; and her siblings-in-law, Barbara Joyner, Mary Hamilton, Harold Griffin (Jean), Roger Griffin (Wanda) and Robert Smith (Cheryl). She is also survived by forty-three grandchildren, ninety-three great grandchildren and twenty-three great great grandchildren.
