She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Curtis and Pauline Sudduth (Phelps); her stepfather Walter Scott Sudduth; her husband Joseph G. Mitchell, Jr.; and her son Michael Joseph Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, John Scott Mitchell, Rebecca Lynn Weber (Jackie), Susan Elaine Cecil (James), Melissa Daugherty (Chuck), Jane Elizabeth Mitchell (Stacy Stevens) and Katherine Prather (Randy); and her grandchildren, B. J., Jason, Chris, Eric (Jerimy), Michael, Nathan, Paul, Sam, Lauren, Daniel, Meghan, Rachel, Chas, Mandy, Branden and Sarah. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
