He was predeceased by: his father Paul C. Kinney. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn McCauley Kinney of Lexington; his wife Linda Cardinal Kinney; his children, Michael Kinney (Ashlee) and Audrey Kinney; his siblings, Brian Kinney (Martha Pat) and Ella Burnett (Mike); his aunt Jean Pilant (Al); and his grandchildren, Cooper and Collins Kinney. He is also survived by four nieces, three nephews, and four great nieces.
