It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sophia Anna Preston of Lexington, Kentucky, who passed away on April 4, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, McKinley Syck and Ivy Myrtle Syck (Pinson); and her siblings, Shirley Skeens, Virginia May and Quenten Syck.

She is survived by: her daughters, Kathlene Jane Osborne of Lexington and Iva Lynn Hamby of Lexington; her sister Eva Nell Spears of Princeton; her grandsons, Christopher Hamby (Mandy) and Anthony Hamby (Casey); and her great grandchildren, Lewis Hamby and Wilson Hamby.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Sophia's memory to, Bluegrass Hospice Navigators, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Ky. 40504.
