She is survived by: her sons, Lindsay Calvin Olive (Rose) and James Shepherd Olive (Wanda B.); her grandchildren, James Lindsay Olive and Sarah Carolyn Olive; and her great grandchildren, Bailey Bocko and Graceson Olive.

“I have such very fond memories of Ruth Olive. We bonded early in my tenure with The Lexington Singers as fellow altos in the ‘70s. Then we discovered that we were practically neighbors which led to carpooling to rehearsals and concerts over the years. We shared much laughter and many adventures related to TLS music and people involved. I hated when she & Bill moved to Midway, and she had to drop out of Singers. We continued visiting some afterward, but of course it wasn’t the same…. RIP, friend.”
