He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ray Thomas and Leila Belle Arbaugh Thomas; and his siblings, Harvey Thomas and Norma Lipscomb. He is survived by: his wife Wilma Jean Tate Thomas; his daughter Melisa Thomas Morris of Lexington; his grandson Zachary Tate Morris; and his siblings, Charles Thomas, Ronald Thomas (Phyllis) and Linda Thomas Richards. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Sanders Brown Center on Aging.
