It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell H. Salyer Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky, who passed away on July 21, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell H. Salyer and Edna Mae Holbrook; and his brother William Montague. He is survived by: his brother Henry Salyer (Marty); his daughter Susan Whitehurst; his former wife Debbie Salyer; his stepdaughter Melody Bennett; his sister-in-law Shirley Montague; his nieces and nephews, Megan Linville (Galen), Andrea Sosby (Andrew), Mary Ann Grigsby (Chris), Patty Sharp (Jack), Billy Montague (Barbara) and Tommy Montague (Vicki); his grandchildren, Jonathan Osborne, Zachariah Whitehurst and Crystal Parks; his family, Kevin, Cameron Heathcoat, Athena and Isaac Kern; and also, Stella and Herrington.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Lexington Public Library.
