He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie Nelson and Jewell Landrum Farris; and his daughter Lisa Renee Takacs. He is survived by: his wife Jacki; his daughter Tami; his siblings, Nancy Jarboe (Jack), Ruth Anderson (late Frank), Jeannine Proctor (Robert) and K. Nelson Farris (Cynthia); and his son-in-law Keith Takacs. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church, 150 E. High Street, Lexington, KY 40507.
