She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband John Wallis Greathouse; her parents, Joseph Henry and Josephine Burkley Wombwell; her children, John Greathouse Jr., Allen Greathouse, Edward Greathouse (Penny), Nancy Downing and Margaret Claus (Kenneth); her daughter-in-law Anne Greathouse (Buffy); her son David T. Greathouse; and her siblings, George Wombwell (Edie) of Louisville, Joseph Wombwell (Barbara) and Nancy Preston (William). She was also cherished by 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
