Mae Jewel McCoy Obituary

Mae Jewel McCoy, 103, a Lexington resident and widow of the late William Y. McCoy, peacefully passed away on January 11, 2021. Born November 11, 1917 in Garrard County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Virgie Lee Lane and Charles Alexander Dillon of Garrard County, and the youngest of six children (all deceased). Jewel was preceded in death by sons, Gerry A. McCoy and Shirley Y. McCoy.

Jewel was a retired homemaker and a member of Broadway Christian Church for more than 50 years, as well as a member of the Sunshine Couples Class at Broadway Christian Church. Survivors include two sons, William A. (Patricia) McCoy of Russellville and Paul S. (Kathy) McCoy of Lexington; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service and burial will be at Paint Lick Cemetery in Garrard County.
