He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie and Eldora Reed; his wife Beulah "Boo" Reed; his sister Shirley Reed; his son Lester Reed Jr.; and his pet Bambi.

He is survived by: his children, Vickie Hacker (Wendall Hacker), Darryl Reed and Sheryl Blakeman (William). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
