He is survived by: his wife Joan C. Roberts; his daughters, Michelle Roberts and Anna Roberts-Smith (John Smith); his grandsons, Hayden Smith and Hunter Smith; and his sisters, Dr. Martha Rice and Marie Roberts. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations in his memory should be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
