He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery McCarty and Sibyl Greene McCarty. He is survived by: his wife Janet Spears McCarty; his children, Melissa Grubb (Keith) of Catlettsburg, KY, Alison Fisher (Edwin) of St. Louis, MO, Jeff McCarty (Allison) of Mt. Sterling, KY and Ryan McCarty (Megan) of Nicholasville, KY; his grandchildren, Andrew Grubb, Emily Grubb, Christian McCarty, Keaton McCarty, Brittany Fisher, Megan Fisher, Zachary Fisher, Deacon McCarty and Braylon Lambert; his great grandchildren, Case McCarty, Myla McCarty and Maren McCarty; and his granddaughter Lauren Horton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Homes - Central Ave Chapel (1501 Central Ave, Ashland, KY 41101). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
