He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Juan Eduardo Hernandez of Lexington and Edith Smith Hernandez Booher of South Carolina. He is survived by: his brother John Hernandez; his daughter Holly Vergunst (Nicholas); his siblings, Edward (Donna), George Hernandez (Linda) and Carolina Hernandez Lane; his nieces, Dana, Laura Hernandez, Julia Claire Hernandez, Cindy Lane Edward and Elizabeth Leisure Westerman; and his friend Dr. Ion Boldea (Timisoara).
