It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Benton Murphy (Lexington, Kentucky), born in Campton, Kentucky, who passed away on February 4, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Murphy and Minnie Ingram Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Mary Callahan Murphy; his children, Laura Murphy Kehrt, Charles R. Murphy and Joseph Benton Murphy, Jr (Jacquelin); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wooten (Zack), Benton Clark, Christian Clark, Charles 'Landon Clark, Harrison Kehrt, Carson Kehrt, Joseph Benton Murphy III, Jack Murphy and Mary Grace Murphy; his great grandchildren, Laine and Leigh Ellen Wooten; and his sister Mary Elizabeth May. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, Crestwood Christian Church, or the American Cancer Society.
