He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jane Mellinger; his children, Ashley Tinsley, Stephen Tinsley, Justin Moen (Katy), Micaela Moen, Marisol, Carlos Rodriguez and Ted Mellinger (Lisa) of Germantown, TN; his grandchildren, Paige Mellinger Ernst (Daniel), Michael Mellinger and Alex Mellinger; his children, Mark Mellinger (Amy) of Lexington, KY and Paige Paxton Pugh; his child-in-law Michele Mellinger-White (Greg) of Lexington, KY; his grandchildren, Jane Katherine White-Jones (Austin), Reed, Ashlynn Jones, Andrew White, Madeline White and Sarah Grace White; and his adoptive parents, Juanita Rogers Mellinger and John "Jack" Mellinger. He was also cherished by His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
