He is survived by: his children, Derek Boyd, Joseph "Booney" Johnson and Jotosha Boyd; his siblings, William "Bee" Boyd, Charles "PeeWee" Boyd, Rosalene "Lucy" Bobbitt, Glenna "Tee" Sanderlyn, Bonnie Boyd, Vina "Ann" Boyd, Stella Boyd, David Boyd, Anthony Boyd, Lenora Boyd (Baby Cakes) and Thomas Nelson; his niece Kiyoka Boyd; his friend Dorothy Guy; his grandchildren, Chadwick, Kevin, Kynnadie Bennett and Brittany Vinegar; his son Charles Vinegar (Frank Collins); his siblings-in-law, Betty Boyd and Jake Bobbitt; and also, Carl Guy and Frankie Bennett (Kevin). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
