With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Pauline Machara of Lexington, Kentucky, who passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Hill and Pauline Hill; her husband Nicholas Machara; and her siblings, Betty Routh, Barbara Bradshaw, Thomas Paul Hill and Robin Hill.
She is survived by: her children, Nicholas P. Machara, Joseph Machara (Kim Machara), Ruth McKnight (R. Patrick McKnight), Julia Carleton (Patrick Carleton), Marilyn Machara (Nathan Klemperer) and Margaret Machara; her grandchildren, Richard McKnight Jr., Nicholas McKnight, Thomas McKnight, Zoe Machara, Marley Machara, Steven McKnight, Jack Machara, Vincent Carleton, Robin Carleton and Audrey Carleton; her siblings, Ruth Kreh (Don), Marilyn Brewer and George Hill (Lois); and her sisters-in-law, Anna Hill and Jennie Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
