He was predeceased by: his mother Fannie Mayfield; and his sister Margaret Price. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Mayfield; his sons, Jimmie Mayfield, Jr. (Debbie) of Lexington and Jason Mayfield (Mandy) of Owensboro; and his granddaughter Reece of Owensboro.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or Lexington Humane Society.
