It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeffrey Scott Howerton of Lexington, Kentucky, born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, who passed away on September 23, 2020, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Thomas Howerton and E. E. Howerton, Jr.. He is also survived by several cousins, numerous "adopted children" and their families, and many friends.

“Jeffrey and I have been good friends since graduate school, when we both were Speech teaching assistants at the University of Kentucky. The students loved him (of course!) because Jeffrey was Jeffrey. Anyone who knows Jeffrey knows what a joy that is --- for Jeffrey to be Jeffrey. He was one of a kind --- and he will be missed by many. Farewell, Jeffrey.”
