He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille S. Bright; and his parents, James "Babe" Bright and Bertha King Bright. He is survived by: his daughter Rosemary; his grandchildren, Grayson L. Bright and Daven S. Florence; his great grandchild Celeste L. Bright; and his close friend Kathryn Stephens (family: Joann Smith). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pilgrim Baptist Church (541 Jefferson St, Lexington, KY 40508).
