He was predeceased by: his son Brian Douglas Wood (Brandy); and his brother Robert Wood (Jill). He is survived by: his wife Gale Meccariello Wood; his daughter Carey Wood Miller (Scott Ellis Miller); his grandchildren, Abigale C Wood, Kalee Jo Tatman Wood, Weston James Miller, Eliza Judy Miller and Clayton Miller; and his siblings, Rita Edwards, Linda Hawthorn, John Wood and William D Wood.
He suffered a severe stroke (clot and brain bleed), Covid, and went into septic shock from a severe bed sore from St Joseph Continuing Long Term Care.
