He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Compton and Cordelia Compton (Hopkins); and his sisters, Glema Franklin and Mary Sue Collins. He is survived by: his granddaughter Millie; his wife Nova Jeanette Compton (Meade); his daughter Angela Thompson (Brian) of Lexington, KY; his siblings, Reba Kinney of Jackson, MI, Minda Lou Mitchell of Pikeville, KY and Kyle Compton (Lynn) of Pikeville, KY; and his granddaughters, Zoey and Amelia "Millie" Thompson of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or Bluegrass Care Navigators (Bluegrass Hospice) of Lexington, KY.
