He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Belle Thompson and Joe Hancock; and his spouse Francis Forsee Emerson. He is survived by: his sons, Gregory (Sharon) and Hal (Teresa); his granddaughters, Elizabeth Trende (Sean), Meg Hancock (Bridget Pitcock), Heather Hancock (Kevin Simmons) and Jessica Mandt (Jon); and his great grandchildren, Judson Trende, William Trende, Liam Simmons, Mason Trende, Lily Simmons, Cayce Simmons, Mica and Jade Mandt.

With deep appreciation for the medical and support staffs at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center and Bluegrass Navigators, the family respectfully requests that any gifts or remembrances be offered to one's church, the arts, or a charity of one's personal choice.
