It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Brumfield Brookshire in Lexington, Kentucky, born in Richmond, Kentucky, who passed away on September 4, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Neville J. Brookshire; and her siblings, Margertte Brumfield Hull, James William Brumfield, Leona Brumfield Tribble, Evelyn Brumfield Bosley, Nathaniel Brumfield and William Bowin Brumfield (Georgia).
She is survived by: her siblings, Naomi Brumfield McCoy and Donald Brumfield (Mamye); her daughter Dr. Angela Brookshire Hurley; her son-in-law Dr. Carl Hurley; her grandchildren, Lori-Lyn Hurley (Tracy Hawkins) and Chad Edward Hurley (Chloe); her great grandchildren, Ava Elizabeth Hurley and Emme Catherine Hurley; and her nieces and nephews, Judy Bland, April Brumfield (Wycliffe), Tim Brumfield and Mark McCoy (Stacia).
Her nephew, Mark McCoy (Stacia), also helped in numerous special ways. Owing to Covid, the immediate family will hold a private burial service at Walnut Hill Church Cemetery. A large family gathering is planned when Covid conditions allow.
