Gerald Kaufman wrote a sympathy message

“So sorry to hear of Coach Calbert’s passing. He was my high school basketball coach at Fern Creek High School and I learned so much from him, more than just basketball. He had an awesome impact on my life and much of my “fight” I got from him. He would never take credit for it but he taught us how to dig deep and gut it out. He was a treasure! Will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Gerald R. Kaufman, Lagrange, KY.”

“Dear Paula, Keith and I are so sorry for you and your family’s loss. Gerry’s tribute sounds like he was an awesome man who lived a wonderful life. Keith and I want to donate to the Humane Society in his name since we are animal lovers also. That’s a very sweet and caring suggestion in his honor. Take care, Debbie and Keith Saylor.”
