She was predeceased by: her parents, John Jewell Johnson and Mattie Mae Johnson; her grandmothers, Pearl Young and Effie Johnson; and her sisters, Beverly Gardner, Jennifer Walls and Johnetta Johnson.

She is survived by: her uncle James J. Johnson; her aunt Robin Brown; her brother-in-law Brooks E. Gardner Jr.; her nieces, Trina Brown (Bryan), Melissa Gardner, Natasha Gardner, Latonya Walls and Jacqueline Walls; and her nephew Reginald Knight (Stephen). She is also survived by nieces/nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
