He is survived by: his wife Dottie; his children, John Herring (Christy) of Lexington, KY. and Lisa Harris (Peter) of Lexington, KY.; his grandchildren, Andrew Herring (Elin Matsumae) of Brooklyn, NY, Madeline Herring, Kennedy Herring, Caili Harris, Jonathan Harris, Emma Harris and Nancy Walton Herring; his nephews, James Friend (Sandra), Danny (Idaho) and Robert Friend (Jennifer) of Richmond, VA.; and his niece Christy Quesenbery (Tom) of Richmond, VA..
