He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Sturgill and Erlan Roberts Sturgill; and his sister Charlotte Justice. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ann Bartley Sturgill; his children, Belinda "Wendy" O'Donnell, Jeanne Clark (Ray), Michael Sturgill (Beth) and Laura Claiborne (Brent); his grandchildren, Stefanie Hedges (Gary), Connor, Aidan, Liam, Rowan Sturgill of Lexington, KY, Anna and Sarah Claiborne of Lexington, KY; his great grandchildren, Susannah and Bennett House of Nolensville, TN; and his siblings, William "Bill" Guy Sturgill (Jenny), Barbara Richardson, Joyce Casale, Maudie Lou Sturgill and Nadine Lingle.
