He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Schroeder and Margaret Johnston Schroeder; his wife Carol Y. Schroeder; his siblings, Anne Karem (David) and Jeff Schroeder (Laurie); his children, Dr. Thadler Alan (Kristina Neda Schroeder), Neftali "Tali" Adams and Katie Kraska; and his grandchildren, Aliksandros Adams, Maksimillian Schroeder and Beckham Schroeder.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to The Nest and ASPCA. (http://www.thenestlexington.org https://www.aspca.org) Fred Schroeder earned a B.S. Biology degree from UC Davis and a DMD from the University of Kentucky.
