He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Justus and Emma Justus; and his siblings, Doris and George. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his grandchildren, Jason (Evelyn), Nathan Harkins (Aubrey), Greg Justus (Cassie), Quentin, Chelsea, Olivia Cook, Steven (Dolapo), Celena Justus, Kristi Bledsoe (Brian) and Heather Hugo (Mike); his great grandchildren, Russell, Sophia, Evan, Jackson, Dominique, Xander, Ayden and Clara; his nephews, Michael (Sandy) and Allen Justus (Jody) of Mascoutah, IL; and his sisters-in-law, Frieda Justus and Lu Dickhaut. He is also survived by his children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Bluegrass Council BSA, St. John's Lutheran Church, or Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
