She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Simpson and Hattie Simpson; and her siblings, Paralee Roberts, George, Richard, James Wilson (Presley), Lawrence and William Simpson.
She is survived by: her husband Robert C. Byrd; and her son David Covington Wendell (Cheryl). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
