She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Dyer and Rose Barnett Dyer; her husband Jesse John Pennington; and her siblings, Darryl Dyer, J. D. Dyer and Wanda Hollan.
She is survived by: her sons, Billy Ray Pennington (Brenda) of Danville, David Lee Pennington (Jo) of Memphis, TN, John Duane Pennington (Cathy) of Lexington and Lowell Grant Pennington of Lexington; and her siblings, Larry Dyer (Nadine) of Lexington, Bob Dyer (Betty) of Morehead and Carolyn Ford (Jerry) of Spartanburg, SC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews; along with a host of extended family and friends.
