He was predeceased by: his parents, James Franklin and Ovie Chambers McElroy; his wife Rosalie Burton McElroy; his son Harold Franklin McElroy; his grandson Dustin Ray McElroy; and his siblings, Thelma Preston, Cecil McElroy, Frank McElroy, Johnny McElroy, Paul McElroy, Gilbert McElroy, Joyce Ann McElroy and Claribel McElroy.
He is survived by: his children, Edgar "Eddie" Lee McElroy Jr. (Glennita), Thelma Jean McElroy Blackburn (Travis) and Donna Michelle McElroy Ramos (Saul); his siblings, Kenneth McElroy, Bobby McElroy, Mary Hargis (Roy) and Maria Preston; his grandchildren, Regina M. Condon (Michael), Jesse A. Devine (Sarah), Charles A. Baker, Suesanne R. Mathews, Shelbi C. Mathews, Juan H. Franklin and Annabelle V. Ramos; and his great grandchildren, Michael, Hailey, Kaleb, Cain, Braxton, Jeremiah and Charlea.
