Dorothy Friend Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Friend (Lexington, Kentucky), born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, who passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward L. Allen and Anna Mayo Allen; her siblings, Jack Allen, Dick Mayo Allen, Geraldine Allen Tolbert, Anna Allen Neal and Polly Allen Price; and her cousin Marion Salisbury Clark.

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Friend Harper (Dallam Jr.) and Gilva Friend Evans (Henry); her grandchildren, Dallam Bancroft Harper III (Sara), Frances Harper Wilkinson (Shawn), Lucy Evans Ulmer (Markus) and Annie Evans Jobst (Michael); and her great grandchildren, Anna Lorraine Harper, Caroline Kirkpatrick Harper, Susan Shouse Wilkinson, Harper Hedrick Wilkinson, Dallam Bancroft Harper IV, Dorothy Lucille Ulmer and Gloria Gilva Ulmer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
