She is survived by: her cousins, Janice LaRue, William Simms, Veronica Simms, Jacqueline French, Carol Ann Morton, Austin Simms (Daisy), Mary Jean Cowherd, JoAnn Washington (Robert), Albert Harris, John Harris (Darlene), Patricia Lewis and Tommy Lee Lewis.
She was also a visiting Ford Foundation Fellow at Harvard University from 1989-1990.
