He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman H. Sowders and Viola Hill Sowders; his siblings, Harold E. Sowders and Ethel Marie Sowders Partin; and his great grandchild Mason Easley.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn McGaughey (David); his daughter Jody Caudill (Chuck); his grandchildren, Donnie McGaughey (Sarah) of Lexington, Amanda Nelter (William) of Lexington, Chris McGaughey (Rose) of Lexington, Nick of Lexington, Jordan Caudill of Lexington and Lindsey Easley (Ben); his great grandchildren, Ashley, Ethel, Ruth Nelter, Baylor, Callen Easley and Raechel McGaughey; his sister-in-law Luise Sowders of Lexington; and his nieces and nephews, Sandra Sowders, Shiela Prewitt (Walter), Jan Johnson (Josh) and John Byassee (Jill).
