It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cynthia Kouns Matthews (Lexington, Kentucky), born in Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on December 12, 2019, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. John Charles Kouns and King Montgomery Kouns. She is survived by: her children, John Matthews III (Penny) of Lexington, KY and Elizabeth Henrich (Nolan) of Tallahassee, FL; her brother John Montgomery Kouns (Cindy) of Albuquerque, NM; and her grandchildren, Megan Blazie, Isabella Matthews, Genevieve Henrich and Jaxson Henrich.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to GreenHouse17, Domestic Violence Shelter or Central Kentucky Riding for Hope.
