She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorine B. Grigsby and Henry Grigsby; her husband James Henry Higgins; and her siblings, Margaret G. Wheeler, Henry Grigsby, Jr. and Charles S. Grigsby.
She is survived by: her children, Elder James Richard Higgins (Sybil) of Michigan and Patricia H. Crawford (Coleman) of Lexington; her siblings, Marie Crooks, Florine Marks, Mae Roberts, George Grigsby and Eugene T. Grigsby of Paris, KY.; her grandchildren, Victor Lamont Hall (Shondele) of Lexington, Msichana Buckley, Baraka Young, Nia Higgins of Michigan, Coleen Patrice Crawford of South Carolina and Chelsea Nicole Turley (Jordan) of Lexington; and her sisters-in-law, Geneva H. McGee and Marcella H. Bush. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
