He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix P. Cole and Lucille Grow Cole; his sister Betty Lou Waters; his brother-in-law Fred Waters; and his grandson James Goodwin Cole.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Campbell Cole; his son Mark Carl Cole (Susan) of Lexington; his grandchildren, Michael Paul Cole of Lexington, Kelly Lynn Drake (Scott) of Lexington, Jonathon Price Cole of Lexington and Caroline Lucille Cole of Lexington; and his great grandchildren, Colton Paul Drake and Emma Caroline Drake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice, 1733 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY 40504 or EKU-McBrayer Scholarship Fund, 521 Lancaster Dr., Richmond, KY 40475.
