She was predeceased by: her parents, William Minton Shirk and Helen Eyer Shirk; her sisters, Beryl Baer and Beverly Montigne; and her husbands, Charles Nicholas Kavanaugh MD of Lexington and William Chenault Thompson of Paris.
She is survived by: her daughters, Betty, Barbara, Beverly and Beryl; her sister Betty Blackwell of Kansas City; her children, Susan Kavanaugh (Dan Walsh), Michael Kavanaugh MD and Christine Kavanaugh (Michael Lichtman); her granddaughter Sofia Kavanaugh; her friends, Helen Beatty of Lexington, Martha Crutcher of Paris and Mike McCord of North Middletown; and her caregivers, Macayla Beatty, Danielle Mosley, Donna Cottingham and Kathy Mitchell.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Central Christian Church (205 E Short St, Lexington, KY 40507). A celebration of life was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
