He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Brooks, Sr. and Dorothy Jeannette Brooks; and his brother Jerry Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Linda M. Brooks of Lexington, KY; his sister Susan Brooks Lanham (Ray); and his children, Phillip Brooks (Margaret) of McLean, VA, Diane Brooks Sullivan (Joe) of Lexington, KY, Steven Brooks of Alexandria, VA, Gregory Butcher (Anna) and Kristi Butcher Yahn of Lexington, KY.. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four bonus grandchildren, and 10 bonus great-grandchildren, his family, friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Hospice Care or the Alzheimer's Association.
