He is survived by: his siblings, Regina Faye Kirby, Denise Louise Ellington, Dorothy Elaine Owens, Edward "Sumni" Thomas Kirby and Kenneth Lewis "K. L." Kirby. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
