She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Raymond Chumley; her parents, Sherman McClellan Goldey and Edna Ray Carter Goldey; her granddaughter Ann Cory Douglass; and her brothers, Sherman McClellan Goldey Jr. (Wallis Ann Goldey) and Robert Franklin Goldey.

She is survived by: her children, Mari Kelly Douglass, Ann Michael Oney (Greg) and Daniel Dwyer Chumley; her grandchildren, William Donald Douglass (Chelsea), Alyce-Amanda Hart Cassity (Johnny), Sarah-Margaret Carter Oney, Katherine Laikin Brunker (Chris), Thomas Alexander Chumley and Patrick Isaac Chumley; her great grandchildren, Wyatt Douglass, Ivy Jane Cassity, Harlee Quinn Cassity, Damian Wayne Cassity, Adelia Rae Douglass, Isla Ruth Brunker and Arkham Ray Cassity; and her niece Jill Franklin Richeson.

Jim Gormley wrote a sympathy message

“Jim Gormley writing; Betty, and I have good memories of Alyce and her intelligence and kindness. Don was one of my father, Jimmy Gormley's oldest and dearest friends. In summer 1980, my sister, Lisa, was involved in a car wreck 100 yards from our home on South Hanover Ave. A bee flew up her skirt, and while trying to get the bee out, she hit a tree on the median; her front teeth were broken off. Betty called Alyce, who got Lisa with the oral surgeon she worked for, fixed her teeth same day.”
