He is survived by: his son Mark Sams (Renee) of Jacksonville, Florida; his granddaughter Debora Peffer (Harold) of Palm Bay, Florida; his stepdaughter Leah Henry of Lexington; his brother Bernie Sams (Karen); his grandchildren, Joseph Wainscott, Mathau Peffer, Carson Sams, Carrington Sams, Myshell Puma (John), Tyler McHone and Rachael Thurlow (Andrew); his great grandchild Melody Thurlow; and his sister-in-law Pamela King. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
